2011 - Field Season Workplan for Mauken Greenstone Belt Gold Project

The 2011 field season workplan has been completed for the Mauken greenstone belt gold project.

The workplan sets out plans for supplementary stream sediment sampling, extensive soil sampling as well as quartz vein sampling. In connection with ground magnetic surveys the workplan is to culminate with the execution of additional 3600 metres of drill samples.

Soil samples taken in early May 2011 has confirmed other samples from the same area in 2010 showing anomalies on copper and arsenic (see earlier news on Mauken anomalies). The workplan has been altered in order to exploit this result extensively setting up a drill target in this area for the 2011 season. Further additional drill targets are to be decided based on the results of the delineation phase results.

The Norwegian government has taken initiative to support the European Raw Materials Initiative (RMI) and on that occasion Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) has been granted funds to undertake measures to support the development of the mining industry in Norway. As part of this initiative a helicopter-borne FEM survey will be conducted over the Mauken license area covering 725 square kilometers, by NGU. The survey will be an important contribution to the interpretation of the structurre and geology of the greenstone belt.

The enthusiasm about the potential of the the 2011 field season workplan is great as CEO, Søren Lund Jensen, comments: 'If the results we expect this field season to produce comes true the value creation on the project looks very promising indeed'.
