Scandinavian Highlands provides an update on the
continuing work on the Paleoproterozoic Mauken greenstone belt gold
deposit.
Late season field work has resulted in further increase of gold
mineralised localities. The gold mineralised alteration zone
(termed 'Main Zone') can now be traced along strike for more than
1750 m. The potential for even larger mineralised system is very
much present and the Main Zone is open in both ends. Presently the
highest rock sample yield 5.78 g/t Au. Regional and district scale
structural data analysis, emphasize the mineral potential of Mauken
greenstone belt. The greenstone belt is associated with
trans-scandinavian deformation-, fault and shear zones hosting
prominent polymetalic deposits in Sweden and Finland.
